The Nevada City Classic is promoted by Tour
of Nevada City Bicycle Shop owner Duane Strawser and the Nevada
City Chamber of Commerce. The Sierra
Express Bicycle Club, Sierra
Express Racing Team, and Bicyclists of Nevada
County provide a majority of the race support and
volunteers. The top-notch Nevada City Classic race website is
designed and hosted by local company Designscape.

SERT/Sho-Air member Duane Strawser promotes his ninth Nevada City Classic.

SERT/Sho-Air member Peter Krogh coordinates hundreds of volunteers on the day of the
big race.
I believe the cane is either for hitting volunteers, racers, or the media (could
be all three).

Galen Shumaker finds a table light enough for those skinny MTB racer arms to carry to the registration area.

Connie Strawser preparing to deal with hundreds of racers at registration.
The pile of T-shirts in back is for over 150 volunteers who will help with the
race throughout the day. That's roughly 5% of the town of Nevada City.

All quiet before the big day.

Chuck Ross shows up sporting a goatee that matches his T-shirt. Cool.

Peter Krogh paces off the race course to make sure it is exactly 1.1 miles
(sarcasm).

The first of a mile of orange, NCNCA fencing goes up. This is to keep the
racers from getting lost and possibly messing with our little town.

Bob Arnds Cooler Zone sets up neutral water for the racers, featuring an Italian water cooling
and filteration system.

Duane takes a break to do an interview for the Channel 3 News coverage.
He's getting pretty good at it.
